![]() 1) How much does it cost to participate? Nothing at all. To join the list you should only fill in the form. All that JCT asks is that you conduct trades in an honest and forthright manner, so this thing will continue to work for all of us. 2) How do I get my trading list posted? There is an email link on every page. Even the one right here. When contacting the Jazz Collectors, use JCT in the subject box of the email. Keep in mind that your list will be copied from your email and pasted directly into the page, so please make sure that your copy is as you want it to read. PLEASE NO LISTS IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. 3) Can I list my non-jazz CD's/tapes? If you have something you think would be of interest to a jazz fan, then list it. As this is the JAZZ trading post, we request that you keep non-jazz CD's/tapes to about 10% of your total list. 4) What else can I list? Jazz books, Jazz videos, pre-recorded Jazz cassettes, Jazz vinyl. 5) I burn my own CDs and make tapes from CDs. Can I trade these? You can do it only for private use, not for commerce. You can exchange such items with other collectors as long as your country's laws allow doing so. 6) I have got some CD's/tapes, but I don't know if they are real jazz. As long as it is sold in the Jazz section of the record store, it will be fine. We have fans for everything from smooth to free or swing. 7) My list is up now, and I have received an email inquiring about one of my discs. I don't see anything on their list that I would trade for. What do I do? No problem. You are not obligated to make a trade, but you are obligated to answer all emails. 8) How often is the page updated? Usually this page is updated twice a week. 9) I have sold my CD's/tapes. Now what am I to do? Make sure you notify the JCT so we can mark the CD as "GONE". 10) I am trying to make a trade for a CD/tape, but I have nothing that person wants. What can I do? Three-Way Trades: If you request a CD/tape from a party and you have nothing they want in return, ask them what CD they would like from someone else's list. Contact that third party and see if you have something the third party would want. Hopefully in this way you will be able to work out a 3-way-trade. 11) I made a trade, and the disc I traded for is overdue in arriving. What should I do? First of all have patience. Some of our favourite traders can be a bit tardy. Also contact the JCT. 12) What can I do to help keep the Jazz Collectors fun and exciting? Glad you asked. Next time you are at a used CD's/tapes store and you see a great CD's/tapes that you already own, buy it for your list on the JCT. This will help keep great music circulating and getting exposed to new listeners and may get you something real nice in return. |
